Shay Smart
Principal, Palm Island Golf Academy

Shay is originally from Houston, Texas (USA) and began his golf career at the age of 13. He has been teaching the game of golf for 14 years from beginners to advanced players. Shay has been a member of the PGA for 6 years and been involved with Golf Academies at different facilities. He has played in many PGA sanctioned events and an active member of the PGA.

Some of Shay's Accomplishments include:

  • WCCPGA Junior Golf Leader of 2001
  • WCCPGA Junior Golf Director 1999-2001
  • Trained Instructor under Jack Lumpkin, Gale Peterson
    (Top 50 instructors in the USA)
Fred Morales
U.S. PGA Member

Fred Morales was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida (USA). He took up golf at a very early age and progressed through the amateur ranks. At the age of 20 won his first event, the WTMI Golf Classic in Miami.

Fred is a Member of the PGA of America and a graduate of the PGA of America Professional Golf Management Program.

Some of Fred's Accomplishments include:

  • Par Boiler Player of the Year
  • OGC Junior Golf Director
  • Callaway Golf Sponsored Golf Professional
Jason Robertson
(SAPGA)

Mr Robertson is an experienced PGA professional with a background in teaching all levels of golfers. He has completed 7 years on the SAPGA Tour.

Mark Mossip
(Canadian PGA, HKPGA, International PGA)

Mark started his career as a golf professional in Canada and was a member of the Hogan tour competing in tournaments throughout western Canada from. In 1999 Mark was nominated as Golf Professional of the year in British Columbia. He has been working and living in Hong Kong since 2000 and holds an associate membership of the Hong Kong PGA. He holds a diploma in Recreational management and a degree in Physical and health education from the University of Toronto. Mark has had the opportunity to learn from a list of well-known PGA professionals including,

GAO Fei

GAO Fei is graduated from Jiangmen Sports School, China. He has received several high ranking prizes from various open tournaments, while he enjoys his teaching life very much.

DENG Rong Hung
  • Began playing golf in 2000 under the instruction of Jeff Olyneic a trained golf instructor and U.S. PGA member
  • Qualified as a golf instructor in 2003
  • Became a professional golfer in 2005 and joined the China Tour
  • Ranked No. 38 in China professional golf in 2005
Nick Hu

Nick Hu started to be taught by Jenny Hu formally in 1999.He has attended many nationwide tournaments from 2001 and also learned teaching techniques from some famous golf instructors of China or aboard. He has worked in many prestigious golf clubs and joined Palm Island Resort in 2006.
